Before starting any Logo design project I take the time to learn and understand your business operations and story, your business goals and target audience to create a comprehensive set of goals. I then use a structured logo design process to ensure the final outcome visually represents and elevates your business.

Below will give you an idea of my overall logo design process, please bear in mind: it does slightly vary from client to client, and project to project. but overall, it\'s a pretty accurate summary of my process.

I never force you to choose any Logo Design:

Its important for new and potential clients to understand that as my client, they are not forced into accepting a logo design idea they simply do not like.

The aim is always to try my very best to interpret the clients\' brief to the best of my ability so that I\'m able to design and create something that is fully appreciated by the client and that will work for your business.

If my efforts at brainstorming end up not being on target, then the client and I simply discuss the good points and bad points, and I re-calibrate my interpretation of the brief.

Logo Design Brief

Research & Discovery Phase

The Second step is properly the most important stage in the Logo design process that most designers miss out they just want to jump in and stat designing a logo which is completely wrong as their basically going in blind with no plan of action, I like to research your brand and everything around it i want to get a feel for how it operates and does business, part of this process involves creating mood boards and mind mapping, at the end of the day information is key to a quality Logo Design.

Sketching Logo Design Ideas

Third step in the Logo Design process once i have gathered all the information required and i now have visual concept ideas running through my mind now comes the fun part, because now we can start pencil to paper in the sketch book sketching Logo Design ideas and concepts. I love this stage not only because i love drawing and sketching but it feels so good when all those ideas start flowing from my mind down my arm into the pencil and i see them developing on paper.

Digital Logo Design

The Forth step in the process once i have hit something on paper is to jump in to Adobe Illustrator to create scalable vector artwork, i work on a large 4000px x 4000px canvas digitally designing the Logo concepts in Black and white. I find it’s good practice to create logos in black and white first. this helps my design process as it makes me focus purely on creating a strong visual design. introducing colour into the mix at this stage can distract my design flow, so by eliminating color at the start will eliminate distraction from the visual design, A logo has a structural element this is the design itself, and a decorative element which is the color. That’s not to say color is not important! as it helps convey emotion.

Sometimes, i will start a logo design project by purely focusing on finding a range of typefaces before thinking about a visual logo mark, or symbol.

The reason behind this is some brand names emit strong emotions, and choosing the correct font seems essential to help amplify that emotion, then I will work on designing and developing the visual element later on in the digital process. That's if a logo mark or symbol is needed, as many logos end up being purely typographic in style.

As mentioned above, i will start the logo design project designing and developing the graphical component known as the (logo mark, symbol, icon, or brand mark) this is normally started in the above brainstorming and sketching stage.

Presentation & Revisions

The final step in the process comes presentation time, I present the Graphic Art Work to the client on a master Logo Design sheet. Revisions can also be applied if necessary before final sign off.

Once the Logo design is completed, and we are both happy with the final design work, I then prepare the logo files for use on web and print. also including a logo usage document this helps by explaining how to use your logo files, and if at any point you need help with your logo files i am always available to help and support you ongoing.
